Emmett Middleton was born on a small farm east of Loxley, Alabama in 1942.  He graduated from high school and left the farm to enlist in the U.S. Army in 1960 and received his Honorable Discharge from the military in 1966.  Emmett served 13 months in South Korea under the Commander in Chief, President John F. Kennedy.  A couple of months after being separated from the Army, President Kennedy was assassinated.  About 30 days after his release Emmett's life would be forever changed when he met Edna Brown.  Seven and a half months later Emmett and Edna were married, moved to Texas, and would later raise a son and daughter here at Memorial Baptist Church.  Emmett and Edna have celebrated over 40 years at Memorial Baptist Church where they both believe God is Great!!
