Ministries of Memorial Baptist Church

The mission of MBC is to glorify God by making disciples through the gospel of Jesus Christ. God’s mission and the mission of His Church are inseparably linked. If God’s mission is to be glorified through the redemption and reconciliation of a people, the Church’s mission must mirror that goal around the glory of God and seek to glorify Him through redemption and reconciliation. Here at Memorial we have several avenues in which we seek to glorify God through specific ministries. We've listed these ministries below and would love for you to connect with the ministry that God is leading you to serve on, participate with, or pray for.

Prayer Team

The prayer team of Memorial Baptist Church exists to emphasize prayer church wide.  They are a group of people that are passionate about prayer and have a strong desire to see prayer grow in the life of ever believer.  The prayer team is responsible for our daily prayer calendar and would love to pray for any needs you may have!

Missions and evangelism are two core aspects of a christian life.  MBC has equipped this team to help us as a church maximize our effectiveness in sharing the Gospel and also making an impact in local, state, and foreign missions.

Discipleship

It is no coincidence the importance Jesus put on discipleship. This is the way He chose to live out His days here on earth and calls us to do the same.  Our discipleship team has a desire to see our church and those that we have in our lives come to trust Jesus more intimately, follow Him more passionately, and serve Him and others more faithfully.

Sewing Ministry

The Sewing Ministry involves a group of women who are devoted to the ministry of making items to benefit others in need, meeting approximately twice a month. Whether it is a pillowcase for hospital patients, dresses for Haiti disaster victims, backpacks and bags for children and youth, or stuffed animals for children, this group works as a team to complete the task. Volunteers may sew, iron, cut or string items, and plenty of fellowship takes place while working. No sewing experience is necessary! Anyone interested in volunteering, donating, or making a request, please contact Jackie Britton at 713-941-8092.

The purpose of the women’s ministry is to connect with God, each other and the community by encouraging women to belong, grow, serve and share Jesus.
